Toyota Forklift's dealer network is comprised of over 200 dealership locations. As a Forklift Service Technician with Toyota, you will work for a Toyota Forklift dealer and help diagnose issues and service our forklift customers. At the individual dealer's discretion, you will have access to ongoing factory training and the possible opportunity to progress to the annual Technician Skills Challenge, which designates Toyota's Top Forklift Tech.

Job duties and conditions may include: working outdoors in hot or cold weather, rain or snow. Some work around exhaust fumes, gas, diesel, solvents, paint, thinners, etc. Some noisy conditions. Must be able to occasionally lift objects up to 75 lbs. and other, lighter objects, more frequently. Must be able to push/pull light objects frequently and objects up to 75 lbs. occasionally.  Must be able and willing to perform basic motor skills such as standing, walking, bending and climbing stairs. Must have clear writing and speaking skills as well as strong cognitive skills and abilities.

Job Responsibilities

In addition to hand-on troubleshooting and repair work, you will give repair quotes, consult customers on the benefits of OEM parts and planned maintenance plans and work with your dealership's parts department to supply the parts needed and perform repairs and maintenance.

Opportunities are available for Road Technicians and Shop Technicians. Placement is managed by the dealer and typically depends on experience, skill and preference.

Additional responsibilities of Forklift Service Technicians may include but are not limited to:

  • Filling out accurate work orders
  • Running computer-based diagnostics on forklifts and other products
  • Maintaining regular communication with Service Managers and/or Service Dispatchers
  • Maintaining company tools in working order
  • Maintaining high first-time fix rates
  • Keeping track of purchase orders
  • Communicating with salespeople to discover customer needs
  • Taking part in training and other professional development opportunities to grow skills and knowledge
  • Adhering to all company policies and work rules
