Speaker 1 (00:22):
When it comes to building engines, Toyota is a global leader. With strong roots in the automobile business and shared technologies, Toyota forklifts have nearly a century of design and refined engine technologies behind them.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
When we say it’s what’s on the inside that counts, we’re really talking about Toyota forklift engines. In fact, the Toyota 4Y engine is the primary reason that Toyota’s internal combustion or IC forklifts are the most durable and dependable forklifts on the market. It’s the heart of our forklifts that just keeps on beating, hour after hour, year after year.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
The 4Y engine was first introduced by Toyota in 1986 to specifically meet the needs of the heavy-duty industrial applications. It’s the motor most closely associated with Toyota forklifts, and it hit the market more than 40 years after Toyota entered the engine business. That experience shows in longevity and durability. The 4Y engine is manufactured in the widely studied, well-known Toyota production system, which ensures the 4Y engine will continue to stand for quality and consistency.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
While the life cycle of most competitive industrial forklift engines is between 10,000 and 20,000 hours, Toyota’s 4Y engine can be commonly found in Toyota forklifts with more than 30,000 operating hours, without any major engine overhaul. And there are some 4Y engines still being used in Toyota forklifts with as many as 80,000 hours.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
But durability isn’t the only thing the 4Y has going for it. It’s just as good for the environment as it is for your business, whether you run LPG or gasoline. Not to mention the fuel efficiency of the 4Y engine is nearly unmatched, allowing you to spend less time and money fueling up and more time getting the job done.
