Working at Toyota Forklifts means taking pride in our products – but it also means taking pride in the culture of our hometown. Beginning with our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and business offices, we strive to have a great impact on Columbus, Indiana, where we are one of several manufacturers that employ thousands of associates and helps stimulate the Columbus and Indiana economies.
Columbus is a place known for its homegrown values and its world-renowned architecture and modern art, earning the nickname “Athens on the Prairie”. It’s a nickname that is fitting, as Columbus has historically ranked on best-architecture lists among cities such as Athens, Rome, and Dubai. An article by Condé Nast Traveler ranks Columbus 15 out of 20 architecture superpower cities – no small feat!
Some of my personal favorite spots to visit in town are the Inn at Irwin Gardens and the Robert Stewart Bridge which welcomes visitors to Downtown Columbus. Our town boasts visionary designers in Exhibit Columbus, an annual event that showcases architecture and artists from across the United States.
Columbus is a town rich in art and innovation, so it’s no wonder it’s the perfect place for Toyota Forklifts to call home. We strive to give back to our town just as much as our town gives back to us! Our forklifts can be seen helping out during local fairs and parades and our associates are actively involved in the community. It’s a town that shares our values and serves to inspire continuous improvement from all Toyota associates.
Are you interested in visiting our campus and checking out our warm and welcoming hometown? Last year, we welcomed over 2,500 people to our facilities to give factory tours and a taste of Columbus, Indiana. Your local Toyota dealer can work with you to arrange a visit. We would love to see you here!
